Explanation of Lay Theological Colloquy -
Each year the Reformed Institute hosts a colloquy that gathers up to 20 people with a scholar to explore a serious theological issue that pertains to the Reformed tradition. This year Dr. Donald K. McKim, Executive Editor for Theology and Reference for Westminster John Knox Press, is leading the colloquy on the topic "The Doctrine of Election in the Reformed Tradition." Past colloquy leaders include Dr. David Kelsey of Yale Divinity School (emeritus) who examined the Reformed tradition and the problem of evil, Dr. John Burgess of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary whose topic was the authority of Scripture, and Dr. Amy Plantinga Pauw who explored feminist theology and the Reformed tradition.
